So, You're Not Feeling Your Best?

Do you feel sluggish? If you're not actually sick, maybe your body is just not at the top of its game. It might be that you can't even pin point what the problem is, or it might be that several things are adding to your discomfort at once. With that in mind, here are some ideas that might help you, from assessing what you can do to make yourself feel better to arranging for wellness services.

Things You Can Do Yourself - First of all, do you feel so bad that you need to go to see your doctor? If so, that should be at the top of your list. Once at the doctor's office, your doctor will assess whether or not you require things like medication or physical therapy. Conversely, the doctor might say that all lab work and examinations show that there's not an actual problem that you can't handle yourself.

If that's the case, it's time to assess what you can do to help yourself. For example, think of keeping a food journal. It might be that eating too many carbs makes you feel bloated and sluggish. Maybe adding exercise into your day would help you to clear your mind and feel more energetic. Writing in a daily journal might help you to feel less stressed. Doing service in your community might give you a richer feeling of well being, too.

Get Help From Professionals - Have you ever thought of going to a wellness center where different professionals can help you? Your community might even have a wellness center within your medical center. The wellness center might also be close a separate entity. Your doctor might actually give you the name of a wellness center where you can receive the services that will help you feel better.

For example, the center probably offers massage therapy that will not only help your body, but might even help you to deal with stress that could be giving you headaches. At the wellness center, there is probably a nutritionist that has the training and the experience to help you plan your food choices in a way that will help your body to perform better. Would you be more consistent at an exercise regimen if you attended a gym? If so, you'll probably find one right at the wellness center.

And, if you're still not sure which direction to take, a life coach at the wellness center can help you with that, too.
